SaMM Triage — Automated Medical Screening for Private Clinics

SaMM Triage is a leased software-as-a-service (SaaS) system developed by Spiders & Milk to help private medical clinics manage patient screening forms, reduce avoidable booking administration and apply their own clinician-approved screening rules consistently.

Rather than treating every submission in the same way, the platform checks responses against rules set and approved by each clinic’s clinicians, automatically clears submissions that meet every rule, and flags all other submissions for a clinic practitioner to review.

How SaMM Triage Works

  1. Clinic-approved rules: The clinic’s clinicians define and approve the screening questions and decision criteria before the system is configured.
  2. Patient submission: Patients complete the relevant online medical screening form before their appointment or as part of the clinic’s intake workflow.
  3. Automatic rules check: SaMM Triage checks each submitted response against the clinic’s approved rules. Only submissions meeting every rule are automatically cleared under that workflow.
  4. Practitioner review: Any submission that does not satisfy all of the rules is flagged for review by a clinic practitioner rather than being automatically cleared.
  5. Prescription-request generation: Cleared submissions generate a prescription request using the client’s letterhead template and the relevant practitioner and patient details, ready for the clinic’s established review and authorisation process.

Important: SaMM Triage generates prescription requests; it does not independently prescribe, authorise, issue or dispense medication. Appropriate practitioners retain clinical and prescribing responsibility.

Designed Around Each Clinic’s Clinical Rules

Different clinics have different services, risk factors, exclusions and review requirements. SaMM Triage is configured around the screening criteria approved by the clinic’s own clinicians. An automatically cleared form means only that its answers satisfied those predefined rules; it is not a diagnosis, a guarantee of clinical suitability or a substitute for professional judgement.

Clinics remain responsible for approving form wording, patient instructions, escalation pathways, clinical oversight and their own treatment and prescribing policies.

Patient Information, Privacy & Consent

Medical screening may involve special-category health information. Deployment therefore needs appropriate security, role-based access, privacy information, documented processing responsibilities and retention arrangements. We review the intended workflow and technical requirements with each clinic, which remains responsible for clinical governance and relevant UK GDPR compliance.

Consent to treatment, privacy-law requirements and marketing consent are distinct. A patient completing a form does not automatically establish valid consent for treatment or authorise a prescription.

A Leased SaaS Service — Enquire for Pricing

SaMM Triage is supplied as a leased SaaS service rather than a one-off form template. Setup, configuration, support, commercial terms and any integration work are agreed according to your clinic’s needs. We do not publish a universal price because workflows and clinical screening requirements differ.
